GCC chief, UN Special Envoy to Yemen discuss peace talks' resumption

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Abdullatif Al Zayani, and the UN's Special Envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, on Monday discussed developments in Yemen.

They discussed the efforts to resume political talks between Yemeni parties to restore security and peace in the country based on the UN Security Council Resolution 2216, the outcome of Yemen's National Dialogue Conference and the GCC Initiative for Yemen.

Al Zayani expressed the support of organisation's member states for the UN envoy's efforts to make arrangements for resuming the peace process following earlier talks between Yemeni parties in Switzerland.
